ODS Protein has been awarded the #Innovation Accésit at the XII Gala of the Young Entrepreneur and Entrepreneurial Initiative Award by AJE GALICIA Young Entrepreneurs, held on September 21, 2023. This startup, participating in the acceleration phase of the 7th Edition of ViaGalicia, was founded with the mission of developing solutions to contribute to sustainably feeding the planet’s population. They were already pioneers in the foodtech sector with their disruptive project to produce alternative proteins in a circular and sustainable manner, and now they add a new recognition that supports the innovative nature of their proposal.
The startup was established in 2021, with a team led by Iria Varela, which has already garnered various awards for this project, such as the Empowering Women in Agrifood (EWA) 2022 Spain, Top 100 Young Gastronomic Talents 2022 by the Basque Culinary Center, or Best Business Initiative by AJE Vigo 2022, which has provided them with space at the Business Incubator of Porto do Molle in Vigo’s Free Trade Zone. In this short trajectory, they have already become benchmarks in the sector, being included by El Referente among the 15 most promising Spanish foodtech startups in 2022 and in its Ranking of the 100 most innovative Spanish startups of 2022.
